WHAT IS NEW IN TurboCAD
PRO PLATINIUM V.19
?
SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE
New 64-Bit Version
New 64-Bit Version of TurboCAD addresses up to
32GB of memory, compared to 2GB on the 32-bit platform, so
RAM-intensive processes are much quicker. Load, process, and
render much larger CAD files. The 32-bit version is still
available if it’s required by your hardware.
Updated Design Engines
Update your design technology
with the updated ACIS® v22 solid modeling engine, plus
LightWorks® v8.3 and Redsdk v3 rendering engines.
MORE POWERFUL TOOLS
NEW Smooth
Surface Mesh 3D Modeling Tools
Now you can use
existing 3D modeling tools like the Box and Sphere tool to
create a smooth surface mesh. Users can set values to specify
the tessellation, or resolution, of the resulting smooth mesh.
This new form of 3D object creation allows for easier and more
rapid creation of organic shapes. There are also a number of
editing tools for greater control over a 3D model.
NEW Smoothness Setting
This new
setting allows users to control the smoothness level on a smooth
mesh.
NEW Smooth Surface Mesh Moving
Tool
This editing
tool allows users to move the edges and faces of smooth meshes.
NEW Smooth Surface Mesh Crease
Tool
Pick an edge
between contiguous faces and create a crease or sharp edge in a
smooth mesh.
NEW Smooth Surface Mesh Refine
Face Tool
Sub-divide any
selected face or faces to create higher local resolution for
modeling.
NEW Smooth Surface Mesh Merge
Facets Tool
Merge selected
contiguous faces into a single face.
NEW Smooth Surface Mesh Extrude
Face Tool
Use this tool
to extrude the face of a smooth mesh.
New/Improved 1stPricing Palette
Back by popular
demand, the 1stPricing Palette has returned, so architectural
symbols can be added to the TurboCAD drawing and then an online,
real-time price quote can be obtained through the 1stPricing
palette. This latest version now includes support for parametric
windows, doors, and skylights.
Improved Standard Modify Tools
Most standard
modify tools, such as Trim, Split, and Meet 2 Lines, will now
work with walls.
New Geo-Location
Assign longitude and longitude to
a point in your drawing – useful for surveyors and civil
engineers for location of drawing elements.
USER INTERFACE
New Compass Rose
New compass
rose icon can now be placed in your design to displays north
direction.
Modern Look
We’ve completely updated program
icons and menu colors to a more contemporary look. But you’re
not locked in. If you’re happy with the ways things are, we’ve
included the option to return to our classic UI.
GREATER WORKFLOW
NEW ePack File Packaging
Use the new ePack file packaging
feature to collect all associated files, fonts, and Xrefs into a
common folder for easy distribution.
NEW Page Layout Wizard
New wizard makes for rapid
creation of 2D layouts from an existing 3D model. Two modes are
provided to facilitate optimum results for either Architectural
or Mechanical models. Layout preferences can be saved for later
use.
NEW Draw by Layer PLUS
This new setting allows users to
apply general property changes to all tool presets. Once
activated, when changes are made to the properties (Layer, Pen,
and Brush) of a selected tool, those changes are applied to all
tools.
NEW “Keep Center of Extents”
selector mode option
New selector mode option scales
around the center point of an object making changes symmetric.
NEW Drawing Compare
Instantly identify the difference
between two CAD drawings, raster images, or PDF files from
dozens of different applications. Now included with TurboCAD
Pro, this utility lets you simply select two drawings and
perform a visual comparison of the two. Compare differences in
3D files, as well as 2D, in a variety of ways. Select “Zoom to
Differences” to quickly spot updates, or use the toggle feature
to locate changes. Once you’ve identified them, there are
options to switch from one image to the other, to show only the
differences, or to have the differences blink, quickly
highlighting where changes have been made. You can even create
an animated .gif of the differences in the two files in order to
share these with others.
New Drafting Object Options
Two new drafting object options
are now available. The “Curve Segments Amount” is a memory
saving option that defines the number of segments between
adjacent control points and applies to all of the curves inside
of the drafting object. New “Don’t Show Hidden Lines” option
allows users to show/hide all hidden lines of Drafting Objects,
for more predictable behavior as invisible Hidden Lines will not
interact with SNAPs
Improved Drafting Palette Option
Use ACIS references to save
memory when creating a drafting object.
Improved Join Polyline
Join polyline sow supports the
ability to join arcs, bulge polylines and 3D polylines with
fillets.
EASIER RENDERING AND
VISUALIZATION
Upgraded LightWorks Rendering
Engine
The powerful LightWorks®
photorealistic and artistic rendering engine has been updated to
version 8.3. Some of the enhancements include new styles and
shader, as well as HTML documentation.
NEW Material Editor
New Material Editor has
streamlined material location, selection, application, and
editing. Its ease of use applies to luminance, environments, and
render styles, since it’s completely integrated into one common
universal editor for LightWorks®.
Upgraded
Redsdk Rendering Engine
The Redsdk engine from Redway 3D,
which takes advantage of GPU-based graphics cards for faster
design navigation, has been upgraded to new version 3. Now
rendering can be isolated to selected objects in a drawing,
instead of all objects in Model Space, saving time.
Specifically, if at the time of switching to the RedSDK Draft or
Hidden Line render mode, there are selected items in the
drawing, then the rendering will be applied only to those
selected objects. Redsdk is also now the default draw mode
instead of OpenGL.
NEW GPU-Accelerated Drawing
Performance in Quality Render
Mode
The updated Redsdk engine is now
supported in Quality Render mode, as well as Wireframe, Hidden
Line, and Draft Render modes. Speed drawing performance up to 60
times faster! Background rendering has also been implemented.
NEW Hatch Pattern Creator
Now included with TurboCAD Pro,
this tool provides an easy and fast way of creating repeating
patterns to be used as Brush Patterns in your designs. Create
custom hatch patterns by symbol and by sample. Using the tool
you can also select existing patterns, adding several together,
accumulating patterns and creating more complex designs. As you
create new patterns, save them to the Brush Style Table and they
will be available for repeated use.
SMOOTHER
INTEROPERABILITY
IMPROVED DWG/DXF Filters
Updated filers offer a range of
continued enhancements for working with the latest AutoCAD® and
AutoCAD LT 2010 / 2011 / 2012 files.
NEW/ IMPROVED DGN (MicroStation)
Filter
The DGN file filter for working
with MicroStation has been completely re-written to open and
save DGN files through v8.
NEW 3D Print Option
New print option allows you to
output your 3D solid model directly to the Axon software used
with 3D System’s Bits From Bites 3D printers, including the 3D
Touch and RapMan 3D printers sold separately here on
TurboCAD.com.
